Can I use salad dressing as a replacement for vinegar in marinade?

I am about to cook a steak. Olive oil + greek salad dressing + spices = a good marinade?

Let me know. Can I use salad dressing as a replacement for vinegar in marinade?
That should be fine
This should work, however, I would omit the olive oil since there will be plenty of oil in the dressing. You can add a bit for flavor if you want...Can I use salad dressing as a replacement for vinegar in marinade?
yes why not!! let me know how it came out

good luck
should be fine, my husband uses italian dressing to marinate stuff.
Yes, you can use a vinegar based salad dressing. If the dressing you are using already has oil, then you probably do not need to add any more. Also, add salt conservatively since most prepared dressings contain quite a bit.

In addition to spices, you might want to add some fresh crushed garlic, freshly ground black pepper, fresh herbs (parsley or even celery leaves) or a bit of lemon juice to add a bright note.
well it truely depends on the spices you choose, but in general yes...

i would add some worchestershire sauce to that, as well as some garlic, ginger, onion and white pepper

marinade at least 1 hour then grill
i don't see why not . might taste better .
Depends on personal taste, won't be too bad though. Just go easy on the spices and olive oil since both are already present in the salad dressing.
That would be a great marinade if it contains vinegar, the vinegar is what tenderizes your steak. You can read the ingredients on the salad dressing bottle and find out if it also contains vinegar.
Sounds great!.. Go for it!
yes in fact I will soak my steak in some italian wishbone dressing and then let em get room temp and take em outside and throw em on the grill

raining? just throw em in a hot pan

good food dude!
Absolutely

In fact I love Italian dressing as a marinade for steak before grilling. Most dressings have a vinegar base and emulsified or bound with oil, spices and herbs. Most marinades would be considered a vinegrate anyways. Try the Argentinian steak marinade Chimichurri one of my favorites red wine vinegar, olive oil, lots of fresh Parsley and Paprika. YUM
