I'm 25 and 5'5" 130lbs. I would like to lose 10 lbs and tone my body especially my legs, butt, and ab area. Here is a typical day of what I eat (What I eat fluctuates but I try to stay around 1200 calories per day):
Breakfast: 1 packet of plain instant oatmeal with 1 packet of Stevia, 3 slices of frozen peaches, 1/8 cup of mixed beries and a small amount of organic non fat milk . 1 cup of coffee w/ packet of Stevia and organic NF milk.
Lunch: 1 cup of organic lentil vegetable soup with a tbsp of golden flax seed mixed in with a side salad made of raw spinach, arugula, sliced baby carrots, green and red bell peppers, cucumbers and topped with homemade olive oil and apple cider vinegar dressing.
Dinner: 1 cup of homemade cooked black beans with chopped onion, garlic and a small amount of salt. Cooked spinach with salt and pepper to taste and a whole wheat tortilla.
Snack #1: 1 smoked mozzarella string cheese and 100 calorie pack of raw almonds
Snack #2: 1 serving Organic plain greek yogurt with 1 tbsp local honey, half a cup of blueberries frozen but thawed and 1 tbsp golden flax seed.
Yesterday was my meat free day but usually I eat salmon, chicken or a ground turkey patty with a veggie for dinner.
I've been doing Jillian Michaels ripped in 30 level 1 which is about 20 minutes of strength with cardio. Should I do this every day? I'm roughly following her master your metabolism diet but she says to exercise 4-5 hours a day which seems like a lot to me. How much should I exercise and for how long? I know some people do strength training and alternate muscle groups is that the most effective way? I know how to eat healthy but just having a hard time figuring out the exercise part. Also does this diet sound balanced to you? Thanks in for any advice you can provide! How often should I exercise?
You don't need to lose weight, although toning is always good. I think you just need to exercise to maintain your weight,so maybe about 3X a week...to tone, you might want to lift some weights, and/or frequently do crunches..l
