Hi c: So, I'm trying to lose some weight before spring break (in May). Basically, I'm cutting out absolutely all junk food, soda, sugar, bad foods, etc. I'm already vegetarian, and I don't eat much junk food anyway. A day of eating would probably be like this..
Breakfast;
8 oz of greek yogurt, half a cup of strawberries, one green apple.
Lunch;
A salad containing celery, romaine lettuce and/or spinach, carrots, tomatoes, and no dressing.
Dinner;
A small piece of lean fish, fresh spinach, fresh green beans, and an apple.
Drinks/Snacks;
Green tea, water, veggies, fruits.
Could I lose a considerable amount of weight doing this, and walking for an hour or two a day?

yes, i also think you could and should eat some more to, especially some more protein. people panic about carbs and fat but id eat a healthy balance of all 3 Carbs/Pro/Fat and exercise. and you will soon get fitter and reach your target weight.

Yes....that would definitely result in weight loss. Don't have less than 1,200 calories though because it's not completely about calorie restriction. It's about finding that "sweet spot"..that point where your body is getting it's required nutrition (1,200 on average for females) but just a little bit less than what is required to maintain your weight. If you eat less than this amount your body will lose slower and hang onto calories. If you eat this exact amount the weight will fall off. I discovered during my own experience. Okay so if you ate 800 calories you might lose more but it would be muscle, etc and the weight would come right back as soon as you stopped.
Also you'll look and feel thinner at whatever weight you get to because you wont be bloated from sugars. So if you had previously been say, 150 (just giving an example) you will look like that at 155, etc..I find this happens to me.
If you wanted to lose even more, you could try some heavy cardio- it makes all the difference in the world.

yes you will lose weight if you keep up with this healthy diet and exericse. But the challenge is how long. Don't give up and lose hope. Keep up with it everyday and u will see resutls.
You would definitely lose weight with this... But as someone else already said try to eat some carbs along with all your fruits and veggies to have a more balanced diet. Also, walking an hour or two a day would help drastically- but it might be a bit much.... I think maybe half an hour to an hour would be good, too.

Sounds good! You will loose weight, but remember to change the meals up a bit.
And when you have salad at lunch, have a big salad (but no dressing, just stick to what you have) because you will eat less at dinner. And always eat your veggies first, then if you feel full you would of gained the least amount of weight.
