How to find the cheapest airfare?

I'm hardly skilled with finding airfare deals. I've looked all over the net, but can't find anything. We want to fly from Houston Tx to Columbus OH.

1) What's the cheapest day, month, time

2) Is SWA the cheapest?

3) Its 2 adults, 1 child probably..

4) We're flexible with our time.

5) Don't need hotel, my husband is from Columbus. How to find the cheapest airfare?
I suggest you start off with http://www.kayak.com and also visit http://www.southwest.com. Know that Southwest is not always the cheapest but what is nice is that the first 2 bags fly for free.

Be flexible with your dates of travel. Ticket prices should drop a bit if you fly between mid-September and mid-November since that is low-peak travel time due to families not traveling due to children being back in school.
1.) The earlier you book, the cheaper it will be. So it can be a couple of months from now, make sure you don't book around holiday's since they hike the prices up and time usually isn't that important but if you use any time.

2.) Most airlines are around the same price. My niece flies JetBlue because it is cheap, not sure about other airlines but it costs my sister around 89-160 dollars depending on when she books.

Try this site.

www.orbitz.com is great for finding cheap deals. I always use it to book my flights. Although you should check the site everyday when you're planning to buy a ticket because the prices fluctuate. When you see a cheaper deal than the day before for example, you should get it then because it could go back up the next day or even an hour later sometime. Just keep checking and you'll get a great deal :)
