I honestly find orbitz.com very good! The prices are amazing. If you are planning a vacation try and research their vacation packages with hotels included.
If you are traveling from the UK flights-from.com compares lots of diferent travel companies and gives the option of booking direct with the selected airline. I am not sure if they have good deals for flights with departure airports outside the UK

that's a meta search engine and you then book directly at the airline and usually save a few buck versus www.orbitz.com
