Best Airfare deals this winter...?

I have some well-earned vacation time coming up, and it's getting cold outside, so I want to fly from Omaha Eppley Airfield (OMA) to Hawaii (I don't much care where in Hawaii, just the cheapest option), sometime around the holidays, for about 10 days.

My brother's girlfriend studied abroad (not abroad, but you get what I'm saying) out in Hawaii for a semester. I think she said you were doing pretty well if you paid less that $1000 a round-trip ticket.
