Does Penn State have a chance against LSU?

LSU isn't very good, but Penn State is downright awful. They played only two decent teams (not good teams, decent teams), and got their butts kicked both times. Both PSU and LSU are Papajohn's quality teams. What are those two losers doing in a top non-BCS Bowl?Does Penn State have a chance against LSU?
Bowl contract with conferences, simple as that.

Looks like a downright awful team will beat an isn't very good team.

Penn St.'s opponents weren't that bad, They didn't lose to a team that got hammered at home by the 6-6, #6 ACC team.
You make it sound like Penn State is Syracuse or something. You don't go 10-2 from being as bad as a 4-8 Big East team. Penn State lost to the Rose Bowl winner and a great Iowa team (playing in the Orange Bowl), and they hardly got blown out, both were close games (they were down 7-10 to Ohio State after the Buckeyes broke the tie with a FG, and it was 7-10 until late in the game, and PSU led over Iowa 10-5 until very late in the game). Papajohn's bowl? Are you serious? That's where Heehaw State type teams that are just giddy to be 6-6 and playing in a bowl play. Penn State BLEW OUT the two decent teams they beat before the Capital One Bowl (34-13 over Northwestern and 31-6 over Temple), they killed pretty much everyone they played except Iowa and Ohio State. And one of our wins was 42-14 over a Michigan State team that was always a few points away from winning, an unlucky version of Iowa, and MSU finally gets their chance to prove they're better than their record, and they will. How is Penn State as bad as Syracuse? And you know what? I bet you feel really ridiculous after Penn State just toppled LSU. It wasn't as close as the score. Penn State dominated everywhere but the scoreboard, then let LSU back in the game, woke up, and kicked a FG to put it away. Yes, PSU beat an LSU team that nearly beat Florida and Alabama.

If Penn State is awful like Akron is, then LSU must be as bad as Eastern Illinois, LOL. And Alabama must be as bad as Indiana. So I guess we have two crap teams playing for the national championship. Maybe you're right and this is a down year for college football.Does Penn State have a chance against LSU?
your right in both haven't really impressed this year - this game comes down to is Penn St supposed GREAT DEFENSE and all their sacks against average teams enough to do the same against an SEC team

LSU has been nothing to write home about either - but due to past history the SEC does get the nod against teams from other conferences until they prove otherwise -

Penn St with qb clark as a senior should be highly motivated for this one - Not sure where LSU's head is gonna be at for this one - if penn st brings the D LSU will probably struggle - if Penn St goes vintage BIG 10 and suddenly plays like the little old ladies from the nursing home against teams from a different conference well - at this point dont be surprised - its the BIG 10
Who would you put in a top non-BCS bowl? Ask Alabama about Penn St.

Greg The Retarded Guy - Your answer proves the accuracy of your account name.

loboe - If you don't like some bowl games, don't watch but I don't wanna hear you whine on here. "LSU plays tougher teams all year and will get the W", LMFAO!

Joseph B - Yeah right. Not one of those morons on ESPN picked Penn St. Bunch of dummies put down Penn St.'s schedule but are too stupid to look at the LSU, Alabama, Texas, Florida schedules.

Republicans Are Crybabies - Who were they overrated over? They were both #3 in their conferences.
Last time these 2 played Penn. State was a National Powerhouse and ranked #1 and Penn. St won 16-9 but that was then and this is now. I do believe these 2 teams are evenly matched probably a great game in the Brewing simply because LSU does not choke bowl games anymore. So ESPN and Todd Blackledge keep Joe's picture on the mantle, It use to be that away but not anymore! LSU 24 Pen St.13.
It should be the other way around. The SEC really only has success against either Ohio State or Purdue from the Big 10 and actually struggle against everyone else. Penn State is 5-2 in their last 7 games against the SEC. Both teams were overrated this year, but I think will match up well with each other.

lsu is garbage, and i have been saying this all season. how they were ever ranked in the top ten is beyond me. penn state isn't so great themselves, but they'll win this game by two touchdowns, 24-10.
Most of the teams I have seen playing lately shouldn't even be in bowls. Who wants to watch SMU vs Nevada? I don't. LSU plays tougher teams all year and will get the W.
They are in the Capital One bowl because they are big name schools. I think your question should be.......

"Does LSU have a chance against Penn State?"
Umm.....LSU is going to kick Penn States ***
Yes!
