in my opinion you eat too many animal products. the fat levels in these products are toxic to humans and their proteins can actually leach minerals, including calcium, from your bones. your diet should be more plant based. google the mcdougal dietHow unhealthy have I eaten in the past few days?
In my opinion, you eat SUPER healthy!

You have a good, healthy and varied diet. As long as you exercise once in a while you're healthy :)
It looks like to me That you are doing pretty good. Keep it up and maybe you can lose some weight and have more energy in your body. Its always nice to have a Chicken Burger or something every Month but not every week. Eat atleast 1 Burger every week, But dont get carried away on it. Slip some of your vegetable in it to make it healthier and tastier if you like. How unhealthy have i eaten this week?
    THATS ALOT OF DIFFERENT FOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
youve eaten fine but the oreos and such could be cut out and replaced with nutritious calories
    Pretty good meals

    now start moving a lot,

    gym....
Gee sounds pretty unhealthy. Why dont you just eat grease all next week;)
It sounds like you've been eating really healthy ..obviously, lol. The pasta, cupcake, chicken etc.. are unhealthy but as long as you ate the amount you need to obtain protein and stuff you're good. I mean if you're on a diet, this isn't too bad. You're not eating too much junk food and as long as you move around and get enough exercise on average this is barely unhealthy. :)

That's a beautiful diet! I love the variety you have there!

The few Oreos and McDonald's snacks you had are just fine. It will not negatively effect your health (since you obviously do not regularly eat these things) and hey, we all deserve to treat ourselves every once and a while.

Keep it up!!How unhealthy have i eaten this week?
If all of America ate like that, it'd be a much healthier nation.

Seriously, on no planet can that meal plan qualify as unhealthy. I only have two things to add: Eat more for breakfast and lunch (From the looks of it you barely eat anything!) and get LOTS of exercise.

You actually need to up your calories some. This will give your body more energy. Try to have some whole grains at breakfast every day. You are eating a lot of processed foods. Cut out these as much as possible. They are unhealthy, even if labeled low fat or low calorie because they have a lot of additives. The healthier you eat, the better your body can use the nutrients.

Cut out sweets, seconds, and junk including processed foods and things made from white flour. Use the whole grain version instead like whole wheat or multi-grain bread, whole wheat pasta (which I actually prefer), and brown rice. Drink only water. However, allow yourself one small cheat a week. This keeps you from feeling deprived and gives you something to look forward to the rest of the week.

Eat lots of fresh fruits and veggies, moderate amounts of whole grain carbs and lean protein. Some people have no snacks. I find I get headaches if I don鈥檛 eat more frequently, especially when first starting to eat healthy and exercise. I鈥檒l allow myself a healthy snack of a small piece of fruit or veggies. Just be sure no dressing or peanut butter with it. Studies have shown that it is better to have 3 medium size meals and 2 small snacks rather than just 3 large meals. This helps keep blood sugar more steady. Plus you won鈥檛 feel so hungry at meal times. Can i still lose weight eating like this? I do fitness kickboxing 4-7 times a week?
You can find: How to lose 2 pounds a week?

I believe that weight loss always starts from mindset. This is the reason why i am able to lose 15kg in 2 months and maintain for 3 years straight, all the way till my pregnancy.

    1) What is my goal? I want to lose __kg in __ time.

    2) Why do I want to achieve this goal? (if possible, come up with 50 reasons)

    3) If I do not achieve it, what pains will I have? (come up with as many reasons as possible)

    4) If I achieve it, what happiness will I have? (come up with as many reasons as possible)

    5) What will happen to me if I continue my current situation for the next 10 years?

    6) Then when do I want to take action?

Some solutions I can offer you for diet:

    Breakfast: eat fruits/drink fruit juice

Lunch: Less carbo, more veg and fruits, less seafood, meat and eggs

Dinner: Same as lunch but no solid food after 8pm. Soups are great dinners

If you want to exercise to enhance the speed of weight loss. Go for some light jogging or do something you enjoy like an aerobic class or kick boxing class...

Hope this can help u. :)

do you think i'll gain weight from eating like this ?

I'm trying to lose weight..How unhealthy have i eaten this week ? How can I make up for it ?
You haven't eaten unhealthily at all. You may want to cook at home rather than eating preprepared meals so much, but overall you have done well. Possibly cut down on the cookies, pretzels and other junk food a little, maybe only every second or third day would be better. You seem to really like chicken, but that isn't a bad thing.

Drink water. Also for lunch I would have turkey instead of the peanut butter. For a snack have apples with peanut butter. Dinner is good, and breakfast is too.Why am I getting bloated, Help!?
changing your diet to only healthy foods is the best thing you can do and will ensure you will lose weight if combine with walking everyday especially.

you can eat how much you like if you stay within these 3 guidelines and still lose fat naturally and gradually. You should lose 10lbs each month on average.

1.eat only steamed lean meats, eggs, healthy fruits ,vegetables, nuts, grains (Asian basmati or jasmine rice gives lots of energy and can be found at your local oriental/asian market or some super markets), %26amp; yogurt..2. drink only water, juice, %26amp; milk..3. walk or do some physical exercise 1-3 hour every day.

(btw, recommend you also to buy an electronic food steamer and a rice cooker ((Both Very cheap)) .which, used together make it very easy to prepare very nutritional, healthy meals ,,add a bit of olive oil , diced garlic, pepper, sliced lemon and spices on top of steamed vegeatables, fish or chicken to add more taste if wish as these are healthy too.)

take out the 1 square of chocolate, and cut out the cheesestick

just make sure you exersise for 1hour + a day if you wanna lose weight.
Your meals are very well balanced! I would just suggest increase of extercise, go for a walk, jump rope, or even hula hoop!:) I also gained like 10 pounds over the march break (blehhh) I just cut back on calories and exercised more and I actually lost it all back in 2 weeks plus 3 pounds!! Binging weight is the easiest to loose. Good luck (:How did I do on my diet today? Teenager?
Well your eating habits sound good.. Exercise more?

Am i too healthy of an eater?

Hi! i am a pediatric nurse and on lunch break my friends were teasing me about how healthy i eat and that i am too tiny and that i should eat some unhealthy foods to get "meat on my bones" i am a small framed girl and i was kinda offended by this. i am 5'2 and 101-105 pounds.

. to me i think i am fine, but from your point of view am i healthy?

I'll wake up at about 6:45/7 and then go on a 2 mile run %26amp; 2mile walk (4miles total) then come home and shower, get ready for work, eat, and i'm out!

breakfast- either protein smoothie (1/4 cup egg whites, a couple strawberries, ice, and V8 light juice) or 2 pieces of whole wheat toast or waffles with peanut butter (organic)

    (i pack snacks and lunch)

snack- a handful of almonds or raspberries

lunch- a turkey sandwich ( 2 pieces of wheat bread, a squirt of mustard, some lettuce, a slice of tomato, and turkey) with an apple, or a salad (lettuce, tomato, low fat dressing, and grilled chicken) and a piece of fruit ( like a banana)

snack- some carrot and celery sticks in a light organic ranch, or some crackers with cheese

dinner- a lean piece of meat (chicken or fish), some wheat pasta or rice, and a veggie like steamed broccoli or asparagus.

desert- about a cup of non fat plain greek yogurt with some berries or other fruit

i also take 3 tablets of fish oil, a daily supplement, and a calcium pillAm i too healthy of an eater?
you can't ever be too healthy lol, dont listen to em! your lifestyle is GREAT i wish i could pull that off.. haha just be sure not to overdose on vitamins
My dear there is no such thing as too healthy everything seems fine the only thing I could recommend is a little bit of red meat taste great and is great for you as for your weight for your height that seems about right. The most important thing is that you are happy with yourself and your life style.Am i too healthy of an eater?
WOW. No wonder you're soo thin. You certainly eat according the food guide and VERY healthy. You're at the boarderline of underweight. So about 5 lbs from being underweight. No biggie.

There is a such a thing as moderation though. Its ok to dig into that piece of chocolate cake or tub of ice cream once in a while.
    haha they're just jealous :P !

Can never be too healthy! In fact, I'd even skip the cheese, but honestly, at the amount you're excercising... who cares about cheese? lol

Don't listen to them! Do what works for you. The one concern I'd have for you is all that running. It may be too hard for your joints.
Actually, that sounds really good, I couldn't live without a nice bloody steak once in a while though.
    yes, right
i think they're just jealous that you eat good and are tiny!
Can never be too healthy......so I think you're good.
do you realise it's 2am central time ? why are you up? ...thats unhealthy
I would say dont change any thing. I'm 5'2 and 103 but its healthy. You eat well and you exercise, just because others around you dont do the same, that doesnt mean you have to or should do the same. My dad always talks to me about this and everyone thinks him and me are too skinny and need to eat a ton of food but really we are healthy, not average, healthy. The average person in the u.s. is overweight. So i think your totally fine just because your smaller than the average person doesn't mean that your too small.

any way dont worry about them. being healthy is a really good thing :]
Theres no such thing as a diet thats TOO healthy. If you have been eating this way for a while then your weight will have normalized so thats the way you should be. These other nurses are probably jealous of your bodyshape. Its in the normal range. Ignore them.

EDIT: You might want to take an iron supplement though. It doesn't sound like you're getting enough.
i don't think that you eat "too healthy". there's really no way to eat too healthy if you make sure what you are eating meets the daily requirements for nutrition. i think your friends were probably just lightheartedly teasing you because most women talk about eating healthy instead of actually doing it. but you are one of those people who seems to be able to stick to healthy nutrition. and thats good. most people cant do that

if you would like to, could you help me with healthy eating? my email is theresaretzloff92@gmail.com you dont have to, but if you would like to then that would honestly be great.
First of all, ignore the blithering idiots spouting half truths about Acai berries and other 'miracle' foods, drugs, diets or what have you, and stick to your guns. Your diet is admirable, overall, although a little tweaking may be in order, depending on your BMI, which I'm sure, as a nurse, you can understand.

There is such a thing as too skinny, just as you can be too fat, and by the same merit, I humbly suggest it is possible to be too healthy as well, if it is harming your emotional life.

If you are exceedingly bony or stringy, I would suggest adding a bit more 'good fat' and maybe a small amount of good carbs to your diet.

If you are 'average' or 'toned', then the diet you outlined should be just fine, with one suggestion...add a little DARK chocolate to your daily intake, consider adding green tea to your daily regimen, and, if money is not an issue, you can even consider giving some SMALL credence to the Acai berry craze...by buying actual, freshly imported (or hydroponic) Acai berries and consuming them raw or squeezing them yourself for the juice.

Under no circumstances, however, should you purchase premade Acai juices from grocery stores or health food chains, nor should you invest in acai berry 'supplements' such as pills, powders, 'detox kits', 'bowel cleansing kits' or other quackery as they simply do NOT contain enough of the essential nutrients ascribed to Acai to have any REAL physical effect beyond that which a simple placebo taken unknowingly would have (mind over matter, in other words).

As a nurse, you are in a unique position to study and understand nutrition and exercise and have a sound position to judge your body on, so lighten up a bit and, if you are healthy and comfortable with yourself, ignore your 'friends'.

    Wow that sounds really good.

It doesn't seem as though you had too many fruits/veggies, though. (But you did quite good)

Carrots, lettuce, sweet potato, hummus(?), salad are the only vegetables I see that you mentioned.

You could try adding more green veggies. Lettuce (especially iceberg lettuce) does not really count as a green vegetable. Try broccoli, green beans, peas, :) yum. That's the good stuff.

    And fruits, you did fine with that I suppose; a pear, blueberries, ? I think that's all. I *guess* you could count raisins, but not really %26gt;.%26lt;

I try eating an apple and a banana every day.Did i eat too much today? (not dieting)?

Do you think that the food pyramid is asking for us to eat too many calories?

America is well known for our "obesity epidemic" and the government is always seeming to come up with getter ways to "control" it. Below is an example of the well known food pyramid and PROOF of why America is still getting FAT from "controlled obesity".

    (haha get it?)

Bread, cereal, rice and pasta group-6-11 servings.

If the average serving of whole wheat bread is 100 calories and you were to multiply that by 6-11, you would eat 600-1100 calories just from BREAD. That's the lowest amount of calories one could consume by fallowing the scale. A serving of pasta at least is 350.

    Fruit group- 2-4 servings

On top of all that bread, one could consume at least another 200 calories a day. Let's just hope they're not constantly combining fruits and breads.

    Vegetable Group- 3-5 servings

Most veggies are extremely low in calories, or negative calorie foods. I would think that as long as the average individual isn't eating 3-5 avocados or potatoes a day, they should be able to keep a healthy weight.

Meat, poultry, fish, dry beans, eggs and nuts group-2-3 servings

The lowest calorie intake a person could obtain is 210 calories, from eating three eggs. Regardless, one is living off of nuts and fatty meat, they could consume an additional 600 calories a day!

    Milk, yogurt and cheese group-

2-3 servings. If one was to eat three servings of fat-free greek yogurt, they might be able to manage to be healthy. At 100 calories per serving, it's not something that's going to kill. But what about those that eat high-fat cheese such as pepper jack? Granted a serving is around 120 calories, but the fat is a killer!

The lowest amount of calories a person who is fallowing the food pyramid will consume a day is around 1310. But think about it, who really would eat like that? Six to eleven slices of 100-calorie bread, three eggs, low-fat cheeses and fat free milk? Boooorrring!

I'm estimating here, but if one uses a diverse diet, they'll consume 5666 calories a day!

    WHATTHEFUCK?!

Can a body builder even work that off?

I'm not trying to bash on the pyramid, in fact, I believe that it can be quite useful, when used on a 2-3 day scale! I'm not asking America to go "ana", I'm just pointing out a healthier type of lifestyle.

Think about it, you wake up in the morning and have a glass of fat-free milk, two eggs, a serving of low fat cheese, and a piece of toast. That's 460 calories. For lunch, you decide to try some grilled chicken with a salad, and some low fat dressing. If you play your cards right, you'll eat only 140 more calories! For dinner you eat a small cut of steak and a fruit salad. (About 750 calories). By the end of the day you've only consumed 1350 calories, yet according to the scale you have 5-10 more servings of bread, 1-3 more servings of fruit, and perhaps another serving or two of meat, veggies and milk. That's practically another day's worth of food you saved yourself!

    So what do you think?

Would you cut the food pyramid into 2-3 day segments?Do you think that the food pyramid is asking for us to eat too many calories?
The food pyramid is an ideal rant from republicans and conformists. telling us how to lead our lives, i dont buy it. Society is braiwashing us, there all after me, I KNOW THEIR SECRETS!. I snack on Buffalo wings and cheeze its just to show the man. Nabisco is my form of retaliation, whats yours?
The food pyramid is HORRIBLE. Its structure indicates the power of certain food lobbies.

There is an overemphasis on grains, way too much emphasis on meat and dairy, and too little on fruits and vegetables.Do you think that the food pyramid is asking for us to eat too many calories?
    Your calcuations are off, actually.

First off, you have to keep in mind that these are guidelines... it doesn't mean everyone should eat up to 11 servings of carbs. It's a range because there is a big difference between the caloric needs for a 6'2" muscular male with a demanding physical labor job and a 5' tall sedentary female. An athelete can eat more than the food pyramid recommends and still not gain and oz.

1,200 calories per day is actually as low as people should go because it requires at least that much for almost everyone just to keep their organs and brain functioning. The food pyramid is not about weight loss... the recommendations are for maintenance of a healthy weight.

Bread is not 100 calories (at least not most breads). 100% whole wheat bread without sugar added is only about 25 calories per slice. Other low-calorie grains are oatmeal, sprouted wheat, brown rice, etc.

The problem is not the food pyramid... the problem is so many people don't follow it. Many, many people don't eat enough veggies in the day, or can't eat them without slobbering on butter and oil and cheese.

Most people eat way more bigger slabs of meat than necessary. Most people don't even know what a realistic portion is because restaurant sized portions are super-sized.

Most people eat junk foods like pre-packaged food or fast food laden with grease, salt %26amp; chemicals. People eat refined flour, rice, sugar, etc. which is probably the worst things you can put into your body on a regular basis.

The food pyramid isn't responsible for Americans being overweight, it's the kinds of foods and portion sizes we've gotten used to, that we consider "normal" are really bad for us.
I think that we should get rid of any kind of "pyramid." Human beings don't realize how tender and sensitive their bodies are. I don't have anything against people who eat meat, but we would all be a lot healthier if we ate fruits and plants, mostly plants.

Just because your stomach doesn't hurt, doesn't mean your NOT doing damage to your health. Meat is the hardest for us to digest. There is a reason why you get sleepy after eating a 1/2 lb of steak, a side of mashed potatoes and a pint of beer. Your stomach is saying, "Stop, I'm tired!" Of course you fall asleep due to your body exhausting to digest (food coma)then, you drink a cup of coffee or tea to stay awake, OR order a sweet dessert, which is even WORSE. People get into this habit and your body is constantly up-and-down, continuously fed something that changes it's natural, calm state. I'll stop ranting now. GIVE YOUR BODY A BREAK!

Eat small portions and don't eat too much.

Most foods that satisfy the tongue, "unsatisfy" the body. These consist of the extremely salty, sweet, and spicy.

  • Am I eating the right amount to lose weight?

I know they say carbs are bad, but I don't like eggs for breakfast. So I have a peice of toast with rasberry jam, later a cup of greek yogurt, then some cashews and a salad (romaine lettuce, red peppers, carrots, balsmic dressing). Will I lose weight eating this much? I don't exercise much just becuase I don't like bulking up. I'm 5'6" and 106 and I want to get back to around 100lbs.Am I eating the right amount to lose weight?
    Let's have a look at your daily diet;

    * piece of toast with rasberry jam : (morning ) if jam is not much, then its okay, since you will need energy for the rest of your day

    * a cup of yogurt : good choice to speed up your metabolism

    * cashews : we can delete it from your list

    * salad (romaine lettuce, red peppers, carrots, balsamic dressing) : let's remove balsamic dressing as well, you can add olive oil and lemon instead of balsamic dressing

Sure you will lose weight if you eat these, but do not forget drinking water. And you can add some fruits which can give you extra energy. Please be noted that this diet can make you feel tired, so if you feel that way get some carbonhdrates. You may as well add meat for your daily diet like grilled chicken breast without any dressing.

Edit: Then let's remove meat and replace it with some cereals. For example lentil is a good source for protein. 1 portion of green lentil meal gives the same amount of protein which can be supplied from a burger. I have to add that none of the cereals can give you all the essential aminoacids which can be sourced only from meat %26amp; poultry products.
You need to exercise. You won't "bulk up" unless you're lifting weights etc. As long as you're burning more calories than what you are eating then yes you will lose weight.

And that idiot arman is leaving the same message on loads of questions, check his profile, what a lazy git.Am I eating the right amount to lose weight?
Wow, you are already VERY underweight. If you continue the way you are eating, you will loose weight, but not in a good way. You will seriously damage your body.
ok... sound like you are on a good track with food choices but you need to eat more to lose weight.

    healthy food

you need to eat small portion food at least 6 times a day to lose weight make sure its healthy and you are not starving your self i understand you dont like bulking up.

but you need to excises the way to do that with out bulking up is

DO A 30 MINUTE PROGRAM OF PILATE'S AND YOGA IN MORNING AND NIGHT AND DURING THE DAY GO RUNNING SOME KIND OF CARD IO YOU WONT BULK UP BY THAT

just ember stay healthy fit and have a good fun life not every thing is about the way you look hope i helped thanks have a fantastic Friday
Carbs aren't bad-bad carbs are bad, like starches, potatoes, and anything with processed sugar. I think you need to include more protein as well, lean meats like chicken and turkey. Cardio exercises would help to, help burn fat but they wouldn't "bulk" you up. Just try walking 30-45 minutes a day. That would really help.

How many sugar and carbs in healthy food is allowed?

    Breakfast:

1 slice multi-grain bread with 1 tbsp all natural peanut butter and 1 cup of strawberries

    Snack:

1 small Apple with string cheese

    Lunch:

1 slice multi-grain bread with light miracle whip and turkey

Salad with all natural raspberry dressing

    Snack:

    Carrots and broccoli

Dip (ranch packet seasoning mixed with plain Greek yogurt)

I haven't planned dinner yet because i feel like my daily carb and sugar allowance is over. All of that ends up being about 103 carbs and 47 sugars. Fruits and veggies have so many carbs and sugar. So my question is... Is this meal plan healthy?? Are my carbs and sugars okay being that high since its pretty healthy??How many sugar and carbs in healthy food is allowed?
Everyone's body is different, and has a different threshhold or limit for daily carbs. Lets get a couple of things straight first though:

    1. Don't assume that carbs only come from sugar.. They are in all kinds of vegetables, grains, and dairy. We need carbohydrates in order to function. The problem is that we eat too many carbs AND the wrong KIND of carbs.

    2. Carbohydrates do one thing in your body: they break down into sugar. Period. Now that you understand that, we can move onto the next thing:

    3. There are 2 types of carbs: simple ones and complex ones. Simple ones break down very QUICKLY into sugar. Your pancreas, in response to this rush of sugar into your system, releases a bunch of insulin. Too much insulin isn't good for you.

Now....Complex carbs take longer to break down and convert to sugar. Your body has more time to adjust, and the insulin response isn't so quick and dramatic.

    4. Ideally, all your carbohydrates should be complex ones. These come from vegetables, grains, and SOME fruit (not all though...the truth is, most fruit is highly overrated and contains a lot of sugar.)

    5. The best way to determine how many carbs you should eat in a day is to first restrict your carb intake for 2 weeks to 20 grams a day. This isn't for the feint of heart...you will be pretty much eating eggs, (or egg substitutes, like Egg Beaters) cheese, and greens. Fruits is OUT completely for these first 2 weeks, and don't even THINK about bread, potatoes, pasta or rice.

After 2 weeks of very low carb eating, start adding back in complex carbs in the form of whole grains, seeds %26amp; nuts, some starchy veggies like carrots %26amp; squash, and tomatoes.. Most people can eat 100-200 carbs a day and feel great. YOu'll know you are eating too many carbs if you: 1. start craving sugary things and 2. start gaining weight.

What are you drinking, by the way? One of the worst sources of bad carbs is soda and some juices. Aim mostly to drink water...and some green tea. Be careful of herbal teas; some are actual toxic in large quantities.

    Good luck!
you don't say how old you are and that is important. If you are a teenager you need to be eating far more than this. Where are the animal fats? Where is the protein?

Maybe it would be better for you to eat more so you can stop worrying that you're getting enough and go outside and play. How many sugar and carbs in healthy food is allowed?
you need to eat more, I guarentee your not going to be eating like this forever..try just cutting your portion sizes and avoid fried good, foods with fats, sweets and carbonated drinks. its a great diet but you need more protien. so to answer your question its healthy but to the extreme.
Not a bad start, depends.on.your goals and.daily.needs, but ideally dinners are low in carbs and high in.protein. Taking in carbs before bed is what builds more fat then.eating fat, and the protein burns faster, and will contribute more to muscle recovery
30-40 for sugar and 300 max for carbs I believe.

Carbs not perfectly sure but sugar I know. Its less if you are trying to lose weight or have diabetes.

thanksHow does my diet plan sound??? ANY pointers?
Looks like you're on the right track. I wonder about the fat free yogurt, though. Many fat free items actually have more calories because they replace the fat with carbs and flavor enhancers to make it taste good. Check the nutrition labels to make sure you're staying within your calorie limits. Try to avoid sugar free items, as artificial sweeteners can cause their own problems, especially Nutrasweet (Aspartame). You can make your diet more flexible by building your own spreadsheet of nutrition data for the foods you eat. Then you can figure out how much turkey you can swap out for the chicken, or other proteins. You'll need a food weight scale to keep your portions correct. Remember also that non-starchy vegetables are essentially "free" vegetables. You can eat all the lettuce you want and it won't make you fat. Or cucumbers, tomatoes, radishes, spinach, broccoli, cabbage, zucchini, asparagus ... you get the idea. Just don't eat a large amount of any one item at a time or your digestive system may revolt. Try a lemon juice type homemade salad dressing (half lemon juice - fresh squeezed - and half water, seasoned with a sprinkle of onion powder, salt and either basil or oregano. No need for the oil, like in an oil and vinegar (vinegrette) type salad dressing. Info on foods can be found at the USDA National Nutrient Database website, or nutritiondata.com, or try some of the websites that calculate your daily intake, like livestrong.com/thedailyplate.How does my diet plan sound??? ANY pointers?

How is this not discouraging, Dieters please Read.?

Been on a diet for 7 days today. Following better than the drs. orders on low carb low fat diet, He actually said, no carbs for a month. But even veggies have a bit of carbs so how is that? Anyway just lean protien (chicken breast, boiled or stir fried in tiny bit of canola oil and low carb veggies (lettuce). I was told 1200 calories. I haven't even had 800. I have been drinking 100 oz water with fresh lemon. Have so much energy trying to be optimistic and only lost 1lb per day for 5 days. The past two days Nothing. Does this happen to others to. He told me I should lose a lb a day for the first month with the low carb. This is an endrocrine specialist. My hormones are good however so why not losing. I haven't been formally excersizing yet, but so active around the house and outside with my horse so I am not sitting around. What is the problem. Is my body in starvation mode already?

I did add a 1/2 serving size of feta and 6 greek olives on two salads, is this that terrible. The dressing had 1 g carb. How is this not discouraging, Dieters please Read.?
Do you starve? if so your metabolic rate will drop and you end up burning less calories! Plus you are not exercising, that will again drop your metabolism and like i said, you store what you eat. No carbs and high protein diets are very very unhealthy, its very bad on your kidneys and you can never maintain a lean body for long term with these diets. However eat less of good carbs like brown bread, brown rice.. never quit fruits and veggies that will cut down all your nutrition and fibre intake.

By the way the fastest and healthiest way to burn fat is to do interval training, do some research on this type of exercising, go to youtube, WebMD etc.

    Good Luck
More exercise is the key to successful dieting. How is this not discouraging, Dieters please Read.?
That is the problem. You are eating too Little Calories. That is why you aren't losing anything. EAT MORE. You are starving yourself. When I was on Weight Watchers I lost 1 pound a week, sometimes 2.8 if I was lucky, and I NEVER Gave up my carbs, or favorite foods. You are going about it all wrong. Start eating, and you will start losing. Your doctor is a nincompoop.
ok the big problem is you are actually eating too little

believe it or not you cannot starve yourself skinny quicker than you can lose weight properly with diet and exercise

you are eating less than 800 calories a day which will most definitely put your body into survival mode... survival mode is the bodies natural defence against famine, if it thinks there is a food shortage it stores fat and is reluctant to burn it off, it also will begin to burn off muscle instead of fat and this slows down your metabolism meaning the whole exercise is counter productive

you should not really eat less than 1500 calories a day, the key is to eat little often... when people say no carbs what they actually mean is minimal carbs from none starch orientates sources...

bread for example is a common food considered high in carbohydrate.

vegetables cannot possibly be considered as high in carbs and therefor should most definitely not be avoided

you need to ensure you eare eating at least 1200 calories at the absolute minimum - preferably 1500, eating small meals often is also better than eating big meals 2 or 3 times a day... eating small amounts at regular intervals maintains the bodies belief that food is not running out and it is much easier to break down and sort out than loading your stomach to the brim 3 times a day

if you are hungry snack on vegies, when you are hungry your metabolism is at its slowest

just stick at it and try to stay as active as possible

these things take time and it is unrealistic to expect to lose 1lb a day from stored fat sources

there is 3500 calories in 1lb of fat - that means you must shed 3500 from stored energy sources to burn off 1lb of fat from your body

you cannot burn 3 times as much as you can eat in 1 day its virtually impossible under regular circumstances

rome wasn't built in a day - dont give up and results will come shortly

you are not doing a great deal wrong - just being too optimistic and being 'too good' which is actually bad

Can you please help me with my healthy lifestyle?

I try to eat healthy and do moderate excersize. I am 15, I am 5'3 give and take and I weight 118 lbs. Here is are 2 samples of my daily menu regime:

    Day 1:

Breakfast: One small bowl of original special K cereal with 1% milk

Snack: 90 calorie special K cereal bar

Lunch: Grilled chicken over a salad with fat free italian dressing

Snack: Cherries, dried cranberries, half a Luna protein bar

Dinner: (if I order takeout from the chinese restaurant) Chicken with mixed vegetables, brown rice, string beans

Late night snack: Frozen grapes or a 70 calories, low fat fudgesicle pop

    Day2:

Breakfast: 2% greek yogurt with peaches

Snack: Cup of Special K original cereal ( no milk)

    Lunch: Chicken salad over lettuce

    Snack: An orange

Dinner: (varies) Salad with tomatoes, lemon and olive oil dressing, Herb Roasted Chicken, broccoli

Late night snack: Cherries/ grapes, fruit bar popsicle

    So here are my questions

    1. Do i eat healthy enough that I could loose weight if I stick with it everyday

    2. What can I do to improve my meal plan

    3. Am I of the appropriate weight

    4. If not please give me advice on shedding a few lbs (specifically in my inner thighs)

Thanks so much xxCan you please help me with my healthy lifestyle?
    - special K cereal bar - This is just candy in disguise to make you feel better about it.
    - half a Luna protein bar - some more candy
    - 2% greek yogurt - A lot of fat and cholesterol. Nothing special about this but the price

    1. Diets to weight don't work because the body goes into a kind of starvation mode where is squirrels away every spare calorie as fat and can even use bone and muscle tissue for energy.

    2. You can't lose fat in a particular area of the body, sorry.

    3. Weight is a very poor metric because bones, muscle, and fat all have different densities (fat being the lightest). The correct metric is the percentage of body fat.

    4. Eating balanced meals as recommended in the Harvard Eating Pyramid and exercising at your target heart rate is the best way to reduce the percentage of body fat.

Basically your diet is way too light on whole grains and cereals and too high on fats and protein. I know that the current fad diets say your supposed to eat fats and protein, but the only trials have been from the proponents of those diets (all wanting to sell something) with no independent verification (what independent verification there has been is negative).

Get a pulse meter so that you can insure you are exercising at the proper intensity.
sound good, but cut down on the late night snacks!

I woke up at like, 5:30 this morning because of storms and so I think that's why I've been hungrier. Anyway, today I've had....

8 am or so- 30 calorie protein water

Snack (9:30 am)- a Kashi fruit and nut bar (120 calories)

I was thinking about having greek yogurt or soymilk. If I have either of these, will it be too much?Have I eaten too much today?
    Too much? No!

Do you have anorexia? This is getting dangerous, sweetie...
it's fine if your activity level for that day was low but more activity requires an extra slice and some grapes or something...Have I eaten too much today?
the looks under 1800 calories a woman should be eating 1800-2000 cals a day x
Go for it. You have eaten pretty healthy today. One slice of thin crust pizza isn't that bad for ya.
not at all most people have 2000 cals a day. Looks like you will have under 1800. Your fine(:
I think your doing great! I have had.....

    Help from Vegetarians please!!?

I've been asked to do an Anniversary dinner a deux, for two vegetarian friends of mine. As I'm a dyed-in-the-wool carnivore, are these menus balanced, and, if a veggie, which one would you eat it?!!

A roasted red pepper soup with homemade granary bread

    Main course

Stuffed Portabello mushroom with a herby, garlicky stuffing , courgette ribbons (yellow and green) wilted spinach, and roasted cherry tomatoes on the vine with a fresh pesto dressing

    Fruits of the forest cheesecake

    OR

Mixed wild mushroom pate with melba toast and salad garnish

    Main course

Greek style vegetarian Feta and spinach pie with filo pastry, tomato salad and mixed green leaves

Lemon mousse cake with raspberries for pud

Everything will be homemade, bread, pasta, pesto etc.Help from Vegetarians please!!?
I would have the soup, the pie and either (or both) of the puddings! Not a massive fan of stuffed mushrooms and it seems to be what restaurants always like to offer as the veggie choice. The pie also means I am getting some iron from the spinach.

Either way excellent menu and I would really love the fact that you had made an effort and home-made everything.
The first one sounds better to me, and is also more well balanced nutritionally. I would suggest doing a combination of stuffed mushrooms and stuffed squash (small ones, like patty pan, etc.) though, instead of just mushrooms.

The second one seems to be heavy on dairy and refined grains and not enough vegetables. The main course %26amp; dessert sound yummy to me, but I can't get on board with the mushroom pate %26amp; melba toast. I'd probably prefer the lemon cake over the cheesecake too.Help from Vegetarians please!!?
A roasted red pepper soup with homemade granary bread

Greek style vegetarian Feta and spinach pie with filo pastry, tomato salad and mixed green leaves

I made my own for you, don't like mushrooms.
    Balanced???

No obviously not - there's no meat.

I need to know if i've eaten too much today?

9:45am - breakfast - irish organic oatmeal (cooked on the stove), with 1 spoon of peanut butter. and a smoothie (half banana, a little greek yogurt and blueberries.)

I got home from the gym around 2:00 after 2 hours of exercise.

I ate an apple w/ organic chocolate milk. i was still hungry so i ate another small apple w/ a handful of dried prunes and apricots.

for supper (5:30) i ate a salad w/ lemon as dressing.

I'm probably not eating enough. but i'm trying to lose weight. i'm 14, female, 134lbs.

i only need yes or no answers. please don't be rude. it really gets to me. if so, what else should i eat?I need to know if i've eaten too much today?

Lose some pounds for the first day of school? HEEELLLLPPPP!?

Hey. so this summer ive gained about 30 pounds :( . at the begining of 7th grade i was 190. now im 220. school starts in 8 days and i want to go back to 190. i know its not possible to lose all that in 8 days but when school starts i will be walking about a mile everyday from the bus stop plus gym every other day. so this is what im eating all week: a chobani greek yogurt and special k cereal, a light salad for lunch with little dressing, a serving size of cheetos puffs as a snack, 1 apple or orange, a macaroni cheese microwave dinner. for exercise: walking maybe 6 miles a day, and some cardio 3 days a week. so i was wondering, is this healthy? is my diet okay? i really want to lose weight this year because of my health. please help me, thanks. oh and im going into 8th grade, 5 foot 3.5 inches is my height.Lose some pounds for the first day of school? HEEELLLLPPPP!?
I wouldn't have the cheeto puffs as a snack, they have a lot of calories and are fattening, so they won't help you get to your desired weight. However if you do want a mid-day snack, try having a banana. They always keep me from being hungry for a while, and I feel a lot more energetic after having one. They are a good every day snack. The greek yogurt and special k are both very good for you, so they are good to have for breakfast. The mac-n-cheese will be okay, but I would have something more on the line of vegetables, because the cheese is although giving you protein, but it is also not the best for you. Maybe broccoli, corn, carrots, or soup would be good. You can lose lots of weight becoming a vegetarian too. I am a vegetarian, and I started back in January. I have lost about 20 pounds. Don't cut protein out of Your diet though. You are still growing, so therefore you should still be eating eggs, drinking lost of milk, ETC.. I am also eating healthy, exercising everyday, and getting good support from my family and friends. You running 6 miles a day, that is more then what I do in a day, but it should definitely help you lose the weight faster. Drinking lots of water can also help a lot. It gives you a little water weight, but you just pee it out. (I know it sounds funny, but its true!:) This diet is definitely healthy for an eighth grader. Hope this Helps!(:

HEEELLLLPPPP!?
Ok, so here's what I would do:
-No greek yogurt since it's high in fat, unless your's is fat free
-Skim Milk with the Special K is fine
-Fat Free dressing on salad, even if it's a little. You're sneaking little bits of fat throughout your day without noticing
-Cheetos: Empty calories and extra fat, stay away from fatty snacks and fatty foods in general (No eating out)
-Mac and Cheese: White pasta makes you fat. Start eating whole grains. Studies show that people who ate whole grains compared to people that didn't eat whole grains lost more weight.

I also noticed you aren't getting enough protien. Include a source of lean protien such as chicken or turkey in your breakfast and lunch to keep you going through the day and to keep you energiezed.

And, if you're craving a snack, instead of munching on cheetos, go for carrots or apple slices.

Walking 6 miles a day is too much if you're not used to walking those amounts. However, if you have been doing that every day for a while now, its fine.

Someone your age should get minimum 1 hour of exersize a day. If you have gym class, don't think thats a replacement for going to the gym. The more you exersize, the less you'll weigh.

Your BMI is 39 which is extremely high. You are technically obese and if you want to have a normal BMI, you have to lose 79 pounds.

This early on, you can lose pounds and shed fat easier. But, as you get lighter, weight loss will become more difficult, which means you will need to pump up the workouts to a higher level.

Last thing, drink LOTS of water. I consume 4 bottles a day so you should be getting about 1.5 liters.

I hope this helps. Best of Luck!
Keep on that diet, and walking 6 miles helps, but try to walk faster and faster every time. You'll probably be 215 by the first day if you start now. Also, a good tip is to when you're not allowed to move, like, run around the classroom, swing your legs. Only that burns around 100 kcal per day if you do it every chance you get.Lose some pounds for the first day of school? HEEELLLLPPPP!?
Are you sure you can stick to that diet? I mean, that actually is a really good diet, but are you sure you will be able to walk six miles a day? Cut it down to 2. That's a better goal and you will lose weight.
um you're in eighth grade. there's no way you should be this concerned about losing weight, especially since 220 at your height and age is considered healthy.

however, I can understand peer pressure. if you want to lose weight I suggest you try a more long-term option. the meal plan you're suggesting doesn't have enough variety to be healthy... add some vegetables in and substitute the macaroni and cheetos for something healthier. don't start by eating as little as possible. gradually eat less to give your stomach time to adjust. also, eat small amounts throughout the day to keep up your metabolism. some dietary supplements are out there. a lot of them are really dangerous (and you might have to be older to buy) but some like acai berry and green tea are natural metabolism boosters and aren't harmful to most people in small quantities. if you're going to try this, definitely consult a doctor first.

your exercise plan sounds good, but I would also say to ease into this. your body needs an adjustment period in any diet or exercise program.

    good luck and be safe

Lose some pounds for the first day of school? HEEELLLLPPPP!?

HEEELLLLPPPP!?
Do NOT starve yourself. Just eat healthy. Here's a food regimen I came up with for you:

Breakfast: whole grain cereal with a handful of blueberries/raspberries tossed in

Lunch: A sandwich made of whole grain rye bread that is NOT enriched, fill with one slice of healthy ham, a sliced tomato and lettuce. Have a cup of greek yogurt and a banana with it.

Afternoon snack: Nachos! Shred some low fat cheese and use whole grain chips.Sprinkle cheese over chips and microwave.

Dinner: A salad with a homemade dressing (just look for some healthy dressing recipes online). Have a cup of assorted fruits in a variety of colors. Also have a small amount of a homemade pasta. Do not use the microwavable types, and make sure to add things such as tomatoes and spinach.

Bedtime snack: Have a glass of milk along with some dried maraschino cherries. The cherries will provide melatonin which will help you sleep and the milk (make sure it's ORGANIC) will provide lots of nutrients. Although it's not possible to lose a ton of weight in 8 days, keep up this healthy habit and cut off the junk foods. Going to a fast food restaurant once a month is OK, but try to eat as many at-home meals as possible. If you're hungry in the midmorning, blend a fresh fruit smoothie. Avoid canned foods and microwave dinners. As for exercise, you can try to lift 3 or 5 lbs. weights and jog, but remember don't overwork yourself! That can't do any good. Most importantly, get lots of sleep. Good luck!!!Lose some pounds for the first day of school? HEEELLLLPPPP!?
If you were serious about weight loss, you wouldn't have waited until 8 days before school starts to lose weight. There is no possible way to even get near 190lbs in 8 days by diet and exercise.

Lose some pounds for the first day of school? HEEELLLLPPPP!?

That should help. Glad you're realistic about the time needed to lose the weight. The exercising sounds like a good plan.
If your comfortable with yourself, then do whatever you feel is right. Your diet sounds pretty good, and they have these apps on phones where you put in what your eating and stuff and it tracks your calories and really works. I used to be 5'7 and 135 and now im 5'8 and 130. If there is a real health risk, I would talk to my doctor but if your happy thats what mattersLose some pounds for the first day of school? It seems pretty reasonable. Eat a balanced diet and stretch before you walk that far. Also, try doing yoga in the night time to relax the muscles.
    holaa!!! :)
    yay!!!!!!! some1 lik mee!!!
umm so that soundz lik a realy great plan but mayb u should try doing some work out videos online like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2bnjhtJzO鈥?/a>
n i heard that if u eat in smaller porchions then u could also loose wieght but dont strave urself because the u put ur body through starvation mode which causes ur body 2 try 2 hold on 2 every caloryn try 2 eat alot of citurs fruitz cause they have alot of natural emezymz that help break down food

    hope i helped!!!! :)

ps. im going into 8th grade 2!!! :)
I would say that you should not push yourself when it comes to exercising. Do what makes you feel comfortable. You don't want to push yourself too hard and end up in the hospital. Try doing the exercise that you stated above and if it works for you, then continue doing it. Or you could start small and work your way up to that amount of exercise. Some of my favorite ways to exercise are: hiking, bike riding, using a treadmill, and walking with friends. They are all fun and work (you don't even feel like you are exercising!). Just make sure you drink A LOT of water (which will help you lose weight also!) and stretch before working out.

As for the diet, I would go all organic, so no microwavable macaroni and cheese or Cheetos. If you need a sweet snack, go with dark chocolate or some green tea with honey. Both have been proven to assist in losing weight. Once again, make sure to drink a lot of water!

Most importantly, don't stress out about losing weight and don't go too fast! Stress causes one to gain more weight! So, just have fun losing weight and be confident as you do so! Good luck! : )

Don't eat so much tuna, you really should only have it once a week because it is very high in mercury, you could swap it out for salmon. That said, try incorporating more veggies, make sure they are colorful. Color equals nutrients. Blueberries are a great source of antioxidants which is key to weight loss. Try to eat more veggies and less fruit. Also, try brown rice and veggies, with a hint of your favorite chinese sauce, it's great and it def helps you lose weight. Best of luck!
Yeah its good!Is this a low carb diet? HELP PLEASE?
No no no.. this is not low carb at all.... all that fruit, the yogurt.. This is a VERY HIGH carbohydrate diet. I'm not saying it is unhealthy, thought it will probably make you have diarrhea... but it is very high in carbs.

PS - To help you, I lost 120 lbs in low carb dieting. Focus on vegetables, not fruit. 85% of what you eat should be veggies. After that, you want lean proteins and healthy fats, namely fish oil, olive oil, rice bran oil, etc. Fruits, grains and breads, and beans are high in carbs and to be avoided except in small quantities if you are going low carb.
sounds pretty good but you should look up brad pitts diet i used it and i have lost five pounds quick.
This is waaaaayyyy NOT low carb.

If you are going to diet, you need to learn the basics of nutrition, starting with what foods contain protiens, carbs %26amp; fat.

This information is readily available with general internet searches as well as on most food packaging. Start reading labels.
Skip the cro没tons; that's gluten, which prevents your body from absorbing nutrients. Don't pay too much attention to the scales; you could be gaining muscle, which is heavier than fat.
Nope. If you want a low carb diet, you better cut out those bananas! Plus fruit is full of sugar....good sugar, but sugar non the less.

i would recomment a protein diet.

Brekkie - scrambeled egg, or bacon and egg. Could use sausage if you want?

Snack - salami and cheese (any meat really)

    Lunch - chicken and salad.

    Snack - diet jelly

Dinner - Steak and vegies or salad.

Avoid fruits for the 1st 2 wks then just a small amount after that. Avoid potatoes, pumpkin, carrots and breads. So basically, eat lots of meat! Sounds gross, but it's not too bad and definately helps you lose weight fast!
you really don't have any carbs in your diet at all or a dinner. You should eat 3 well balanced meals a day. you seem to have all the food groups in their except grains and meat. the meat may not be as important but the grains have carbs that will help you have more energy during your workout. just keep working hard and keeping on your food plan and things should go well for you.
i don't know sounds good though
It looks pretty low carb to me, but judging from the protein shake factor in the diet, I am guessing that you aren't drinking enough plain water. In my experience a person needs to drink 6 to 8 glasses(6 to 8 ounces per serving) of water a day. This is proportionate to your body weight. I weigh around 245 pounds so I have to drink around 5 quarts of water per day. This is an easy task for me though because It makes me feel good to stay so well hydrated.

I'm also guessing that you are a female, if you aren't please don't get offended with me. Females lose weight more slowly than males because of a basic difference in our metabolisms and several other reasons specific to females.

I think that you might want to substitute some canned chicken for tuna and I really think you should be eating a whole grain cereal with plenty of dietary fiber for breakfast and get away from that morning protein shake.

Also please note that there are good carbohydrates and bad carbohydrates. I know that you could put that garden or Caesar Salad on a whole wheat tortilla and make a wrap of it and still be in the low zone on the carbohydrates. You would not believe how that one little serving of bread like substance can lift your spirits. I personally don't think protein shakes are a very good snack or even meal substitute.

I used to drink them myself to keep my weight up when I was in the military. I stand 6 foot 2 inches and I have lost down to as low as 175 pounds while on active duty. I looked like skin and bones. I also don't buy into the boost bites. I think you need to mainly be eating real food. Fruits and vegetables are always good. If you want to make sure you are getting enough protein try substituting almonds or some other nut in place of those shakes and boost bites. They roast soybeans and call them Adimade I believe( I could be way off there) and they are an excellent protein snack and are very healthy.

Water and whole grain cereal (like oat meal, or shredded wheat) would do wonders for you I wager.

    I hope I helped

Good luck and hang in there

Umm why would you want to lose weight? I'm female, 5'4 and I look skinny at 150 lbs.
Not sure but you should eat 2500 cals ( from healthy foods ) and just exercise alot, a male your age should be eating 3500 but 2500 is enough for your nutrition without feeling hungry and you can still loose weight but eating healthy, this diet looks good but you need to eat some fish nuts and some more diary .How much will I lose in two months like this?

  • If I eat similar to this and do lots of exercise will I lose lots of fat?

    Breakfast- small apple, banana

Lunch- big salad(kale, corn, tomato, tempeh, walnuts, quinoua, rice bran oil and ginger papaya vinaigrette dressing on the side)

Snack- raw vegan nutrition bar(pure bar 180 calories)

Dinner- 1 cup brown rice, nonfat Greek yogurt, mixed veggiesIf I eat similar to this and do lots of exercise will I lose lots of fat?
You need some protein with breakfast, that is very important for losing weight. Also make sure you're getting enough calories, if not, your body will go into starvation mode. When your calories are dramatically reduced, your body actually stores the fat and the metabolism is slowed down.

Yeah i think that's a good diet, maybe you could consume a bit more food? (Healthy food) especially with the amount you're burning off from your exercise, just a bit extra for dinner, something a bit different to salad all the time and maybe have a snack between lunch and dinner, since you're supposed to eat from every 4/5 hours for your body to stay active and healthy.

I'm just glad you're not one of the growing teenagers who just stops eating to lose weight, keep it up! just don't get too obsessed with your weight, at 15 it shouldn't matter too much.

    Hope this helped!
try eating a snack in between meals. you should be eating about 5 - 6 meals about the size of you fist through out the day. This increases you metabolism and you burn your calories more efficiently.

Also you shouldn't be so obsessed about your weight at such a young age. Just stay active and have fun with friends.

on your healthiness scale I'd give it a 5. It doesn't sound like you are taking in enough calories for someone your age with that high of an activity level.Did I do okay today!?
I would give it a 9/10. You are consuming the minimum amount of food; it's small, but it's still within the "healthy" range. To top that, you seem to be eating very healthy, high energy foods to support your excellent workout routine. Just don't get obsessed.
