My dilemma is that I have been gaining weight %26amp; my face seems really bloated. I don't consume much sodium due to family history of HBP. An example of my usual day:
Breakfast: 1 vegetarian egg %26amp; 2 whites w/ Spinach and Organic Cheese
Whole Wheat Toast with Flaxseed
Coffee with Organic Sugar Substitute (Erythritol)
Snack: Apple or persimmon
Lunch: Salad w/chickpeas, walnuts, tofu, organic cheese, seaweed, onions, and low-fat organic greek dressing
Snack: Oikos plain greek yogurt w/ Granola %26amp; fruit
Dinner: Steamed mix vegetables with tofu %26amp; brown rice, low-fat soymilk

I'd guess that you are having a reaction to something new you're eating. I'd start by cutting out the Erythritol. Also, you're eating a lot of low-fat stuff, which means you're depriving your body of needed fats. Fats, per se, don't make you gain weight. It's much, much more complicated than that. Work some extra virgin cold pressed olive oil into your diet, and even some organic heavy cream (use this in your coffee instead of any sweeteners - within a week sweets will taste too sweet!) or clean, fresh butter.

You are probably gaining muscleWhy gaining weight?
your body could be adjusting to the change also the weight gain could be due to the strength training you have been doing as muscle really does weight more than fat
your efforst are impressive. does your period have anything to do with it?
ok so theres this old saying that muscle wieghs more then fat . thats not true whats really going on with the whole fot and muscle thing is you can weigh more with muscle because muscle takes up less room then fat. if you weigh 120lbs with nothing then body fat n wear a size five then you can weigh 140lbs with muscle and wear a size five. so for get about the scale there no good, what you want to pay attention to if you want to know if you loosin weight is you cloths and how the fit also you can measure your self you can get the seimstress tape at the dollor store or wallmart. its a fabric or flexible ruler that goes around your body. so to your why am i gaining weight by what youve decribed i dont think you gaining fat wich is what you dont want. i think your gaining mucsle mass wich is what you do want. and why are you bloated. well you did a big change to your body and your a female. its a curse in a sense. and a gift all at the same time. youve shocked your system and right now your body doesnt like any thing your doing to it. so it has to flow into it. your body is holding on to what ever it can. do you know that something as simple as drinking a soda or two a day any caffeen really can make you bloated.. the bloat if from water weight . you rbody is reatainning water. now again i dont know how bloated you are. but being bloated can actually be verry dangerouse. and i would say the if your body and not just you sstomach is lightly bloated go see your doctor because you need to get that extra water out and off. the bloating could acttual be a sign that something else is wrong. especial with your famialy history.
