How is this not discouraging, Dieters please Read.?

Been on a diet for 7 days today. Following better than the drs. orders on low carb low fat diet, He actually said, no carbs for a month. But even veggies have a bit of carbs so how is that? Anyway just lean protien (chicken breast, boiled or stir fried in tiny bit of canola oil and low carb veggies (lettuce). I was told 1200 calories. I haven't even had 800. I have been drinking 100 oz water with fresh lemon. Have so much energy trying to be optimistic and only lost 1lb per day for 5 days. The past two days Nothing. Does this happen to others to. He told me I should lose a lb a day for the first month with the low carb. This is an endrocrine specialist. My hormones are good however so why not losing. I haven't been formally excersizing yet, but so active around the house and outside with my horse so I am not sitting around. What is the problem. Is my body in starvation mode already?

I did add a 1/2 serving size of feta and 6 greek olives on two salads, is this that terrible. The dressing had 1 g carb. How is this not discouraging, Dieters please Read.?
Do you starve? if so your metabolic rate will drop and you end up burning less calories! Plus you are not exercising, that will again drop your metabolism and like i said, you store what you eat. No carbs and high protein diets are very very unhealthy, its very bad on your kidneys and you can never maintain a lean body for long term with these diets. However eat less of good carbs like brown bread, brown rice.. never quit fruits and veggies that will cut down all your nutrition and fibre intake.

By the way the fastest and healthiest way to burn fat is to do interval training, do some research on this type of exercising, go to youtube, WebMD etc.

Good Luck
More exercise is the key to successful dieting. How is this not discouraging, Dieters please Read.?
That is the problem. You are eating too Little Calories. That is why you aren't losing anything. EAT MORE. You are starving yourself. When I was on Weight Watchers I lost 1 pound a week, sometimes 2.8 if I was lucky, and I NEVER Gave up my carbs, or favorite foods. You are going about it all wrong. Start eating, and you will start losing. Your doctor is a nincompoop.
ok the big problem is you are actually eating too little

believe it or not you cannot starve yourself skinny quicker than you can lose weight properly with diet and exercise

you are eating less than 800 calories a day which will most definitely put your body into survival mode... survival mode is the bodies natural defence against famine, if it thinks there is a food shortage it stores fat and is reluctant to burn it off, it also will begin to burn off muscle instead of fat and this slows down your metabolism meaning the whole exercise is counter productive

you should not really eat less than 1500 calories a day, the key is to eat little often... when people say no carbs what they actually mean is minimal carbs from none starch orientates sources...

bread for example is a common food considered high in carbohydrate.

vegetables cannot possibly be considered as high in carbs and therefor should most definitely not be avoided

you need to ensure you eare eating at least 1200 calories at the absolute minimum - preferably 1500, eating small meals often is also better than eating big meals 2 or 3 times a day... eating small amounts at regular intervals maintains the bodies belief that food is not running out and it is much easier to break down and sort out than loading your stomach to the brim 3 times a day

if you are hungry snack on vegies, when you are hungry your metabolism is at its slowest

just stick at it and try to stay as active as possible

these things take time and it is unrealistic to expect to lose 1lb a day from stored fat sources

there is 3500 calories in 1lb of fat - that means you must shed 3500 from stored energy sources to burn off 1lb of fat from your body

you cannot burn 3 times as much as you can eat in 1 day its virtually impossible under regular circumstances

rome wasn't built in a day - dont give up and results will come shortly

you are not doing a great deal wrong - just being too optimistic and being 'too good' which is actually bad
