I lost 8 pounds in a week? :D?

First of all, I know most or all of it was water weight. But this is what I've been doing for a while now.

Breakfast: Slim Fast Shake (I don't drink this necessarily for the name's purpose, I drink it because I honestly need to have breakfast on my way to school (5 mins) and a nice tasting, low calorie shake is great for me)

Lunch: Turkey OR ham salad, little ranch dressing (only option:/) with any vegtables (carrots, cucumbers, etc.)

Snacks: Special K bar, Nuti-grain bar, extra lean ham slices with greek yogurt dip spread and a pickle, carrots and the same greek yogurt dip

Dinner: Grilled Chicken breast or any lean meat, vegtables %26amp; salad.

I also work out. Jogging/Walking a mile 4 days a week, and 30 day shred video every day of the week. I was 158-160 when i started and a week or so after... This morning I stepped on %26amp; weighed 150.2. So I lost somewhere between 8-10 pounds in a week in a half or so, by doing all this. I'm eating around 1,300 calories a day, and burning around 2000 with other activities, my calorie deflit is around -1000 everyday. (I use calorie counter to calculate) So, what do you think? %26amp; also, do you think I will keep losing weight by doing this? Thanks:)I lost 8 pounds in a week? :D?
A calorie of deficit of 500 calories per day for 7 days equals roughly one pound of weight loss. For you to be at 1000 calorie deficit, you would be at roughly 2 lbs per week of actual weight loss (fat loss). You are most likely correct in that much of that weight is water weight. It is amazing how much weight you can lose even in a couple days by shedding excess water weight. As you continue you will see that you not continue to lose 8 lbs per week as there is only so much water weight you can shed. If you continue at a 1000 calorie deficit a day you will eventually see yourself losing about 2 lbs per week. Your meal plan appears to be very healthy. In combination with your exercise program, you should be able to lose roughly 15 - 20 lbs in the next 2 months.I lost 8 pounds in a week? :D?
That could be normal reaction to beginning eating more healthy and exercise. When did you first weigh yourself? Was it the same time as this week or later in the day? If it was later, that weight could have included any undigested foods and your clothes if you weren't wearing the same both times. Make sure you aren't under or over estimating your food portions and exercise. Most people over estimate calories burned and under estimate for calories eaten. A calorie counter will help as long as you measure your foods for an exact count. Chances are, you won't continue losing at such rapid pace. 1-2 pounds/week is a more realistic rate for weight loss.

Also, forget the bars and shakes. For breakfast have instant unflavored oatmeal with some fruit. You just add hot water or microwave it a minute. Very easy and quick, but much more healthy than Slim Fast. Have fruit or cut veggies as snacks instead of the bars, chips, cookies, or crackers. Even supposedly healthy varieties and 100 calorie packs aren't as good for you.
