Today, I've had....
Breakfast(6am)- 170 calories of oatmeal, a container of greek yogurt
Snack(10:30-11am)- Protein bar, water and protein powder
Lunch(2pm)- A salad with egg white, spinach, lettuce, banana pepper, olive, and sweet onion fat-free dressing, half of an apple
For dinner, I plan to just have oatmeal and yogurt again....would this be a bad thing to do? Would it be too much carbs?Have I been eating too much today?
All the things you listed were healthy and not over the amount of calories that are supposed to be eaten a day. keep it up but you could try a little meat which is also protein
It sounds like you are doing great for today, don't worry so much about carbs just worry about how many calories your eating compared to how many you are burning. If you are trying to loose weight remember don't deprive yourself of to much or you will binge and gain it all back. If you are just trying to maintain then don't worry. Eat lots of fruit and veggies, you can never eat to many of them in a day and drink lots and lots of waterHave I been eating too much today?
Carbs are not your enemy, aside from diets like Atkins that would leave you to believe that. Oatmeal is fine, and fat free yogurt is also good. Also, the answer depends on what you are trying to accomplish, lose weight? maintain weight? gain muscle? or just be healthy? In either situation running from carbs isn't the answer. You should be around 45% carb intake at least a day, this will give you energy to exercise and do other things that the body requires.
Again you girls with your carbs ok look its not carbs you need to worry about ight
carbs are what give you energy you need carbs
its calories you wanna watch out for f your tryin to lose or maintain weight
and tht really doesnt sound like much to average person
but theres no efficient way to tell without knowing your weight and height and metabolism speed
but overall tht sounds pretty fair
not too much not too less
Hey, Seems like all I had were a bunch of concerns . I have struggled with an extra 10 pounds for quite some time. But I came across a site that had an article that really helped me get many of the answers I was looking for. Hopefully you can find some of the answers you are looking for over there as well. Here's the link to the post that helped me reach my weight loss goal. Hopefully it helps you. I did notice they had numerous articles and give a lot of helpful advice. Maybe a couple of minutes over there would help you get the right answers.
Good luck
If you are overweight %26amp; are gaining weight then, yes, you are eating too much/ too many calories. If you are underweight %26amp; losing then you are not eating enough. Otherwise, all is well.
People can make it all as complicated as they want but it's really pretty simple.
you are eating a good amount, however I would change what you are eating.
Most likely you are eating things you think are "healthy" because that's what doctors want you to believe, but truth is, many things in the "healthy American diet" are bull. Like non-fat foods, and sugar-free options. fat doesn't make you fat, sugar does. and fat-free foods have more sugar than full-fat. so, you do the math.
and as for sugar free options (splenda, equal, diet coke), they have been linked to brain damage, such as brain cancer. My dad goes to different chemical plants for his job, and he told be at the chemical plants where aspartame is made, they have to change the signs every 3 months due to erosion...so imagine what that is doing to your body and brain.
I have proof it messes with your brain. I had severe ADHD all my life, and I had bad reactions to drugs like concerta and aderall. But as soon as I cut sugar and sugar free foods out of my diet, my ADHD improved drastically. Diets play a big part in our lives....anyways...back to the diet,
I am 5'7 and i was 146, but lost 20 lbs. doing this simple diet. NO SUGAR, NO DAIRY, and NO WHEAT. That simple. For milk, I would recommend almond milk, it has 50% more calcium than milk. And never go for low-fat or no-fat, it has more sugar in it than full-fat. And sugar makes you fat, fat doesn't make you fat. People in the olden days did not have non-fat foods, and they were healthy and thin, now we have it and the obesity epidemic has gone up. I also recommend going gluten free, because today's "whole grains" are pretty much white bread with a little bit of whole grain.
Here is what a typical meal plan is for me:
Day 1:
Breakfast:
2 eggs
Cup of strawberries
Piece of gluten free toast
and coffee with stevia and almond milk
(Stevia is a natural 0 calorie sweetener, unlike splenda, it isnt linked to brain cancer)
Lunch:
1/2 Cup of salmon
with steamed veggies
Snack:
1/4 cup of almonds
Dinner:
Quinoa
grilled chicken
steamed veggies
and fruit salad (just strawberries and bananas mixed together. why add sugar to something already sweet?)
Day 2:
Breakfast:
2 gluten free toast with thin smear of smucker's natural peanut butter. (Just peanuts and oil, no sugar)
Cup of blueberries
Lunch:
Grilled Chicken salad, I slowly reduced the dressing, to where I no longer use it. Much healthier and less calories!
Snack:
2 Cuties(those little oranges)
Dinner:
Salmon
Steamed veggies
Quinoa
(If you are wondering what quinoa is, its a gluten free grain that is very healthy for you and a good source of protien)
I guarantee you will lose weight if you follow this diet. I never eat sugar except once a week as a cheat, and i haven't eaten wheat or gluten in a year. So don't tell me it's impossible, i used to be a pop tart fanatic.
It's your choice if you follow this diet or not, but I guarantee you will be much healthier, happier, and slimmer if you don't continue the diet you are on now.
