Will this diet work to lose 10-15 lbs by sept. 1?

I am a 5'7'' 23 year old male who weighs somewhere in the high 150 lbs....I basically want to get down about 10-15 lbs by September 1st....please let me know if i follow this plan, whether or not I can reach my goal. Thanks!

Breakfast: 1 cup egg whites, 1 tbsp feta cheese, 2 tbsp fresh salsa, raw mushrooms, steamed spinach or broccoli (approximately 300 calories total)

Lunch: low fat Greek Yogurt (100 calories)

Dinner: 1 large salad with measured dressing and a protein (chicken or shrimp)...this "big" salad is all of raw low calorie vegetables...not one of those whopping ones you get out that are bad for you

Snacks: 3 pieces of fruit (peach, apple, pear, etc.)

Also, an energy bar (luna bar, odowalla bar, etc.) to sustain my exercise

Exercise: 8 mile jogging/walking combination DAILY outdoors....

Again can I lose 15 lbs following this plan by sept. 1st?

This is an interesting question, and i see it all the time. Firstly, you shouldn't limit your self to such an extreme extent. When you do so, it makes it extremely difficult to stick with it. Second, losing fat is less complex than people think it is. Fat is stored energy, in which we take in, but do not use. Our metabolism is an extreme factor in weight gain/loss, whether this gain is good (muscle), or bad (fat). What you want to do, is raise you metabolism. Yes, this is possible! Most of your energy/calories are burned in a day, from your body trying to stay at a perfect 98.6 degrees temp. So, a little trick to use a bit more calories, is a simple, cold shower. yup. try and stay cold. now this wont get you thin, but it will use some of those calories. now, if you have the time to get to a gym, rather than an eight mile jog, id suggest so. At the gym, (id recommend bringing a friend along as a spotter, what you want to do, is a lot of compound exercises, in other words, workouts that work multiple muscles, in a single movement, such as: the good o'l fashioned bench press, dead lifts. pull ups, squats, etc. Now, if you are looking to gain muscle, and lose fat, this is great, but take it to a new level.

So...to lose fat, one must use more calories than it takes in, dont starve yourself. A handy trick, instead of eating until your full, eat until your just not starving, or hungry, NOT until you need to open up that button on those jeans. Your body, getting proper nutrition, but simply not quite enough, will tap into that stored energy, also known as fat!
Exercising and eating healthier... probably. Just remember to eat if your are hungry. Don't starve yourself just to follow your planned meal schedule. If you are hungry and you don't eat, your body will start saving all of your fat and it will take much longer to lose weight. Will this diet work to lose 10-15 lbs by sept. 1?
