Why am I gaining weight while dieting?

I've been eating whole grain bread with grilled chicken Greek salad for my lunch or sometimes dinner with cranberry juice, as my only drink other than water. I don't eat breakfast because I wake up late in the afternoon, I just drink a bottle of Starbucks Mocha frappuccino. I don't snack unless it's fruit and cheese.



And, I try not to eat after 8:00 p.m. I just drink cranberry juice if I get thirsty and a slice of whole grain bread if I get a little hungry. Oh, and I don't put dressing on my salad either. If I do, I put just a couple of tablespoons of Newman Owns Italian dressing.



And of course I do a few laps on the treadmill and run errands or play with my football with my nephew to keep moving.Why am I gaining weight while dieting?
Eating properly and getting the right amount of sleep play a huge role in weight loss. I think your eating/sleeping pattern is wrong. Breakfast is your most important meal, especially if you are on a diet. It fuels your body for the rest of the day. So get proper sleep, so you can wake up at a decent time and eat breakfast. Eating breakfast will help you feel alert, and have more energy. Frappuccino has a lot of calories, and shouldn't be the first thing your taking in early in the morning. And plus portion control in the key, a lot of people don't know that eating too much or too little can hinder their weight loss as well. Try and eat a balanced diet. Start your mornings off with a yogurt topped with fruit or granola, or even an omelet. For lunch a salad sound good, and for dinner, maybe a salmon fillet, with some veggies on the side, or brown rice. Make breakfast a routine it is key. I don't know your schedule, but definitely getting the right amount of sleep will help you, as well as starting your day of with food, and nutrients to fuel your body.
A Starbuck Mocha Frappuccino? Are you aware just one of them can give you up to 600 (SIX HUNDRED!) calories?! It's a full meal on its own. The smaller one, almost 300 calories... And you're taking one frappuccino every day...? if you're eating (not drinking, it's a food, even if liquid) a Starbuck Frappuccinoper day you're not on a diet, that's the point. You may don't like it, but as long as you don't give up such caloric bomb, you can't expect losing weight.Why am I gaining weight while dieting?
Too much carbs, not enough protein, that means your body stores the carbs, because it only needs a little in processing the protein you're getting.



Also a Mocha Frappuccino is a caloric bomb, change it for a protein shake, with frozen-fruit, and you'll get a better balance of nutrients.



So less carbs, more vegetables, and more protein.
Well, I think it's because you miss the most important meal of the day, breakfast!

Waking up early and having some breakfast can help you lose weight, it helps to keep you from 'starvation eating' later on the day and also helps boost your metabolism.



Also there are studies that shows that sleeping late and waking up late can actually cause weight gain.

you need prevent eating starchy and full Calory food's specially at night and you must get more time to your body because the process of decreasing weight needs time.
People often gain weight when they are dieting of they are not eating enough calories. Now this may sound silly, but try to eat about 1300 calories a day but cut down on your fat intake. That's how you will loose a lot of weight. You should really eat breakfast as well..even if it is late. I would recommend cereals(rice krispies because of low fat content) and a little bit of milk. Avoid sugary foods, they make your body put on weight. Oh, also just drink water of you really want to be loosing weight. Your body is 70% water and this will help you loose weight. If you still are unsure, go to your doctors sugary and ask to see a nurse, that's what I did and she really helped to tell me what I should be doing to loose the weight. Hope that helped.

firstly, I think you shouldn't drink Starbucks because it's often loaded with sugar! You should eat breakfast, even a little bit will help cos it'll speed up your metabolism and it's super good! Make sure your cranberry juice is mostly actual 'juice' not water or sugar etc, It's better to just drink water if your thirsty and eat something like fruit, veg and low fat dip, plain yoghurt with muesli, honey and berries.



sometimes, you will gain a little before losing the weight. your weight also shifts around 1 kilo throughout the day, so weigh yourself at the same time (either in the morning, afternoon, or evening).



Keep going and you're on your way to losing weight!!
