Is the Indian dish 'Raita' classified as a salad or a dip?

I was wondering if anyone could help me here because it's the late afternoon here in my team and we are debating hard regarding the above subject title.

I believe that Raita is a salad because it is a combination of a vegetable plus a dressing (in this case yoghurt)

However, my esteemed colleagues believe it is more a dip than a salad, comparing it to the greek tzaziki.

Your thoughts please.

If you would like to know the reason for this question it's because we have a colleague by the name of Tom who really really adores Indian girls and he picks them up whenever we go for after work drinks. One of his fantasies is to smear raita on one of the girls he picks up.Is the Indian dish 'Raita' classified as a salad or a dip?
Oh, in that case it is a spread!
